Sitting here in my warm house, watching the days get shorter and becoming aware of the winter sundown, today I realise how blessed I feel. It is cold, damp and dark outside but my inner self feels blanketed in good feelings.
How fortunate I am to live in such a beautiful house. At this moment it doesn't seem to matter much that the amount of clutter is monumental. It all feels like it is part of my life, the wholeness of it and the history of it. Slowly, over the past few weeks I have been clearing and ordering my things and I can now imagine almost all of it. I will know I am finished storing, shelving and throwing things away when I can keep all of it in my mind and it doesn't feel full. Good feeling to have some order at last.
It is winter and I don't feel depressed. I feel energised and happy. Admittedly, I feel slower and there are hibernation days, but there is no misery attached. Miraculous and something that I have been working on. So far this winter I have completed an eight week Mindfulness training and have had a few sessions of hypnotherapy. All of these things are part of my grand plan to take control of my life and my madness. And it's working.
Chanukah is here and each night as we light our candles and the glow of candlelight fills the room I think of so many years I have shared this time with people I love. This year I am still sharing it with those I love, even if they are scattered throughout the world. This year I am aware of my joy, my gifts and my wealth of love. Feels great!
